Festive greetings!

Here we are at the end of another 'season in the sun' which has had a late flourish in December but, storms are due again on Friday!

We love the contrasts of weather in Mallorca, distinct seasons matched with different pastimes.

Winter snow in the Tramuntana with a roast Lamb lunch in Escorca,
Spring Almond blossom and a run out on the Harley in April!
Then the Balmy Summer on the crystal clear waters and finally the Autumn, when we stock up with wood for the fire and red wine for supper!

From all of us here at Mallorca Cruising we wish you a peaceful and relaxing Christmas & a successful 2014

Indian Summer!

It was the warmest October for some years apparently and it certainly extended the season!
But now the first Autumn storm has arrived and after a busy Summer, we have put the boats 'to bed' for the Winter.
It has been a good season for most and the 'green shoots' of growth seem to be appearing in the Spanish economy so here's hoping
for an even better 2014!

Temporada bueno?

Well, it seemed like a good Summer, there was hot weather, the beaches, Marinas and restaurants were busy and journey times were doubled as usual by the number of hire cars, coaches & white delivery vans on the roads!
Were all these visitors spending their money though, or was it an increase in 'all inclusive' activity?
We have had a busy 3 months but the season seemed to start late and finish early, there was a significant increase in 'last minute' or spontaneous activity but hey, we take it all the same.
Time to ease off a little now and start planning for 2014 especially with the impending changes to the Matriculation tax applied on charter boats!

August phew!

What a month August has been, is it just me or has it been the busiest for a number of years?
Certainly the marinas have been busy, the beaches crowded & we have had to book a table in our favourite restaurants.
It seems that the season has been 'crammed' into 6 weeks though with a lot of last minute bookings as the weather has been great,
"let's get a boat for the day tomorrow" sort of thing!
Make the most of the sun though, the weather is set to change next week and we are looking forward to a calmer September.
Disfrutar!

Summer has arrived!

After a cooler than normal June, July is delivering 'Scorchio' temperatures and the holiday spirit has arrived with a vengeance!
Our boats are busy cruising the beautiful North coast in balmy sea conditions with the usual refreshing afternoon sea breezes.
In August, look out for the Bombay Saphire Sunseeker Portofino that will be cruising the Balearics serving refreshing GnT's to yachts in anchorages around the islands! Salut y disfrutar

Summer's here!

The locals have a saying:-
"Summer starts on the 40th of May"
Seems they are right, as after a wet & windy few weeks, here we are one week into June and at last the sun is shining every day and the temperatures are climbing.
Enjoy the warmth of Summer!

Spring! (But snow first)

Spring is in the air here on Mallorca with the first Almond blossom out, but before the warmer weather arrives we are forecasting a 'chilly' week ahead with snow on the mountains above 1000 feet!
With Easter early this year we are busy preparing our fleet for another busy season.
'Disfrutar'!
